Presbyterian Parents' Cooperative Preschool - 512.353.8325What does the PPCP offer? Our program provides a nurturing and creative atmosphere that allows children to function at their own developmental level while stimulating them to their next stage of growth. The environment is carefully planned to help children learn to become independent and make choices while setting limits that allow them to feel secure. We provide an opportunity for children to become familiar with group settings, to develop self expression, creativity, a sense of responsibility, and an interest and joy in learning. We respect diversity and strive to explore many cultures. Through new experiences a child may broaden the spectrum of his or her world. All faiths and backgrounds are welcome. How is a Cooperative different from other preschools? A Cooperative Preschool seeks to create an inclusive environment in which the Director and parents work together in the classroom, participating in the daily operations of the preschool to allow each child to grow and develop according to their individual needs. A Cooperative Preschool nurtures the whole family by helping parents achieve a greater understanding and enjoyment of their own child as they share in this very important chapter in their child's life. What unique opportunities will I have as a parent? You will be able to be with your child and participate in the preschool curriculum one morning a month, and have the opportunity to utilize your individual skills and talents by filling one of a wide range of parent positions. You will have the unique advantage of staying in close communication with our Director about your child's progress and have the opportunity to become a part of a Christian community of supportive parents. School times, days and hours of operation The Preschool holds class on Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. PPCP runs on the same holiday schedule as the San Marcos School District. Classes begin on the first Tuesday after Labor Day. What is the parent child ratio? The PPCP accepts 15 children each school year. The Director, her assistant and one parent are present each day to guide, play and explore with the children. How old should my child be? PPCP accepts 3, 4, & 5 year olds. Tuition and fees There is a one time $100 registration fee that includes supplies and a monthly tuition of $130 due on the first of each month. All parents assisting in the preschool have completed a background check. For more information please contact Pat Janke (Director) at 512.353.8325.
